This integrated approach enables us to develop complete, coordinated designs tailored to the specific requirements of each building, while ensuring better integration among the various technical disciplines.
We prepare issued-for-construction plans and specifications for fire protection systems as part of new construction, renovation, expansion, and asset maintenance projects. Our expertise includes the design of automatic sprinkler networks, wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, and specialized systems, as well as hydraulic calculations, the sizing of water supply infrastructure, and pumping stations.
Developed directly within a BIM modelling environment and coordinated with the other disciplines, our designs make it possible to identify and resolve technical interferences from the earliest stages of a project. This approach improves multidisciplinary coordination, reduces conflicts between systems during construction, limits changes during the construction phase, and contributes to more efficient project delivery.
Our expertise also extends to fire alarm systems, for which we prepare complete plans and specifications, from the design stage through to issued-for-construction documents. Coordinating detection and notification systems, along with the various interfaces with other building systems, helps ensure regulatory compliance, continuity of operating sequences, and optimal integration with mechanical, electrical, and security systems.
This expertise is further supported by our involvement in integrated fire protection and life safety systems testing in accordance with CAN/ULC-S1001. We plan, coordinate, and supervise testing to confirm the integrated operation of all building safety systems.
This process validates, among other things, the interactions between the fire alarm system, ventilation and smoke control systems, elevators, compartmentation devices, fire-rated doors, and other safety interfaces. Conducted before the building is placed into service, these tests confirm that the operating sequences established during the design phase are performed in accordance with project requirements. This reduces risks during occupancy and operations and facilitates the final acceptance of the work.
